Thanks to all the Greenfield Volunteers

Greenfield had another successful Roadside Roundup on April 21. This event relies on a large number of volunteers and the Greenfield Conservation Commission would like to thank everyone who participated.  Many residents in town collected nearly 200 bags of trash and were rewarded with a ham and bean dinner hosted by the Greenfield Woman’s Club. We raffled off 21 prizes donated by local merchants.  When you have some money to spend, please consider supporting our local businesses. The Planning Board provided ice cream for all and presented a program on what a heritage district might mean for Greenfield. To help us prepare for the Roundup, the GIVers once again provided the labor hours needed to prepare our advance mailing. Town employees Catherine Shaw and Carol Burgess also assisted us. Carol graciously opened the Recycling Center on a Sunday. Thank you Carol and all the volunteers who made the 2013 Roadside Roundup a big success.

Launching Our Blog

Welcome to the Greenfield Happenings blog, sponsored by The GIVers.

This is an easy place to see what's happening around town.  Whether it's at Oak Park, the Town Hall, the Library, or just around the corner from your house, we have a lot to offer each other.  And this blog promises to be neat, sweet, and to the point.  What kinds of happenings can you expect to find?

  1. Town events (e.g. Blueberry Jamboree, Town Meeting)
  2. School events (e.g. NHDI, Open House)
  3. Library events (e.g. workshops/classes, contests)
  4. Meetings that impact you - we won't bore you with every meeting that happens in town, but if there's a specific public interest point we'll try to let you know about it
This is also the place where you can post items that you would like your neighbors to know about.  If you are holding a yard sale, if your cat or dog has gone missing, if you have something to sell or give away, just add a comment to the blog and get the word out to your friends and neighbors.

To get the most out of the blog, just enter your email address in the box to the right and hit Submit. That way you can get regular emails of updates without even needing to come back and check in.
