CAN YOU HELP THE LIBRARY?

I'm looking for bags to give away with Fizz, Boom, Read summer reading registration this year.  I did not order theme bags due to budget limitations.
I used up my drawstring plastics last year ... Check around with your favorite vendors ... feel free to share my contact info ...

Hoping for 50-100 bags.  Even better if bags include tchochkeis?
Thanks in advance for thinking about it.

Thanks to the Roadside Roundup volunteers

Greenfield held its 9th successful Roadside Roundup on April 26.Without volunteers, this event would not exist and the Greenfield Conservation Commission would like to thank everyone who participated this year. Despite the rain and chilly temperatures, town residents collected more than 100 bags of trash. The Greenfield Woman’s Club put on another wonderful ham and bean dinner that was topped off with ice cream and all the toppings. We raffled off 21 fabulous prizes donated by local merchants.  When you have some money to spend, please consider supporting our local businesses. The day ended with a presentation by the Planning Board about its upcoming charette. To help us prepare for the Roundup, the GIVers once again provided the labor hours needed to prepare our advance mailing. Town employees Catherine Shaw and Aaron Patt also assisted us. A shout out to Carol Burgess who made arrangements for a free dumpster and provided shelter during the rain. Thanks to all the volunteers who made the 2014 Roadside Roundup a big success!!

Celebrate the Earth by Keeping Greenfield Green!

This Saturday, April 26th, is the annual Roadside Roundup organized by the Greenfield Conservation Commission.  Look for your bluebags to arrive in the mail this week or pick up a supply of bags at the Recycling Center.

While the official roadside clean up is this Saturday, you can pick up trash anytime over the next several weeks and bring your blue bags to the special, blue-bag dumpster at the Recycling Center.  The dumpster is provided free of charge to the town so use those blue bags and that dumpster to clean up our roads without any additional charge to the town.

When you’re done for the day on Saturday, come down to the Meeting House for a free Ham and Bean supper hosted by the Woman’s Club.  Dinner begins at 5:30pm.  Dinner will be topped off with Hayward’s ice cream and the drawing of free raffle prizes.  We’re giving away some really great prizes donated by very general local merchants and your chances of winning something are much better than the multistate lottery!!  The Planning Board will also provide a short slideshow and brief presentation of the upcoming charrette.

Don’t miss the fun and reap the rewards of your hard work keeping Greenfield green!

Thanks and hope to see you on Saturday, April 26th

Three CHEERS

for our talented and devoted GIVers volunteers!  If you missed Town Meeting, they presented a locally sourced and built Podium to the Town.  See it on the front page of the recent Spirit.  Next time you drive by Oak Park send them happy thoughts as you admire the new signage they provided.
So many ways they make our community MORE.

It's time to start planting!

Would you like to grow your own fresh, organic vegetables, fruit and flowers?
Don’t have the space, enough sun, or maybe the know-how?

Why not join the Greenfield community gardeners?  We are a group of enthusiastic gardeners, some with years of experience, others new to growing vegetables, but all enjoying the opportunity to grow together in the sunny community garden by the Town Offices.

Raised beds (4’ x 8’) all ready to be planted cost a one-time fee of $50.  A small number of lower cost or free beds are also available.
Call Diane Boilard at 547 6662 for more information.
