Get ready for flu season

Curious about the flu and flu shots?  Like history? Please attend the historical presentation on the 1918 Flu Pandemic with UNH Professor Marion Girard-Dorsey, on Thursday, October 6 at 7 pm in the Wensberg Room of the Library.  This presentation will cover the 1918 flu pandemic (Spanish Flu) that spread across the world.  It is estimated that 10% to 20% of those who were infected died - 3% to 6% of the entire global population. This pandemic has been described as "the greatest medical holocaust in history" and may have killed more people than the Black Death.

Then, get ready for flu season! On Friday, October 7, the  Library will host a Flu Shot Clinic in the library's Reading Room from 2 - 4 pm.  Your friendly Rite Aid Pharmacists will be on hand to administer flu shots for all ages.  Convenience and a pleasant environment...and you can check out a book while you're there!   No appointment necessary.  Please bring your insurance card.
