this week will change to:

May 14^th:   3:30-5:30 PM

Normal Welfare hours will then resume on

Wednesdays evenings:

from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Vacancies on Zoning Board of Adjustment

As per the Greenfield Zoning Ordinance, the Town Moderator will soon be filling vacancies on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Zoning Board is a town standing committee and board members serve staggered three-year terms and may be reappointed.

Those townspeople wishing to be considered for appointment should send a letter, or email, stating their interest and qualifications by May 30, 2014, to:

Notice is hereby given in accordance with RSA 676:4 & 675:7 that an application for a Site Plan Review by John Hopkins for the creation of a Mead production business at 6 Hopkins Lane, Lot R4-14-1 will be submitted to the Planning Board on March 24, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Town Offices during a regular meeting of the Board.

Upon a finding by the Board that the application meets the submission requirements of the Site Plan Review application, the Board will vote to accept the application as complete, and a public hearing on the merits of the proposal will follow immediately.  Should a decision not be reached at the public hearing, this application will stay on the Planning Board agenda until such time as it is either approved or disapproved.

A message from the DPW

Town of Greenfield

March 20th Snow Event

The DPW is currently assessing gravel road conditions throughout the town. We understand that the morning commute was difficult, however we are not able to plow at these temperatures.

We have experienced a quick change in the weather over the past weeks with freezing and thawing. Many roads have begun to thaw and even already experienced mud last week. Last night’s snow only made the issues more difficult to deal with.

Our hope is that the weather will cool down so that roads will re-freeze and we can then give them attention.  Plowing a thawed road leads to damage to the roads and is extremely hard on our equipment.

We understand the frustration of the residents as we feel it also.  We are here and will stay as proactive as possible as mud season gets underway.

Community Conversation September 14

In spring of 2012, as part of the vision statement of our updated Master Plan, residents directed The Planning Board to explore ways to preserve and protect the village. After securing two Community Planning Grants, the Planning Board is holding the second in a series of Community Conversations for residents on Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 until noon at the Stephenson Memorial Library in the Wensburg Room. The subject of the conversation will be the creation of a Neighborhood Heritage District in the village. Copies of the proposal are available on line at the Town website at
