Scholarship available from Hancock Woman's Club

The Hancock Woman's Club announces that their annual scholarship will be open to applicants within the ConVal School District.  In the past it was available only to women residing in Hancock.  By extending the reach, the Club hopes to be able to provide this opportunity to more qualified women throughout our entire community.

The scholarship is provided every year to an adult woman who is in mid-career or plans to begin, change or return to a career after some years of family or other responsibilities.
The scholarship this year will be $1000 and awarded in May 2016.

To qualify the applicant must be a current resident within the ConVal School District and have lived in that area for at least two years.  The applicant must be planning to attend an educational program and will be required to provide confirmation of her acceptance or enrollment.  Educational program refers to a recognized college, university, technical or training school, or professional organization.  The scholarship is not available for independent study, or recreational workshops.

Since its inception in 1991 the Club has awarded scholarships to women who have advanced their skills and positions in Nursing, Education, Child Development and many other fields.

Application Forms are available throughout the year for the 2015-2016 scholarship.  Deadline for filing is March 31.  Contact Joyce Perry at 525-3304 for an application or more information.
