36th Annual Crotched Mountain Hawkwatch Saturda 9/21

Francie Von Mertens (“Backyard Birder” columnist for the Monadnock Ledger) and Meade Cadot (Harris Center Naturalist Emeritus) will be spotting the hawks from Crotched Mountain. On good days, we’ve seen Broad-winged Hawks by the hundreds. Ospreys and Bald Eagles are also likely. From Route 31 in Greenfield, turn uphill at the sign to Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center. Parking is on the left, just past the entrance to the center. It’s a 10-minute hike up to the watch site on Blueberry Ridge. Come anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, please contact Francie (vonmertens@myfairpoint.net) or Meade (cadot@harriscenter.org)
