Thanks to the Roadside Roundup volunteers

Greenfield held its 9th successful Roadside Roundup on April 26.Without volunteers, this event would not exist and the Greenfield Conservation Commission would like to thank everyone who participated this year. Despite the rain and chilly temperatures, town residents collected more than 100 bags of trash. The Greenfield Woman’s Club put on another wonderful ham and bean dinner that was topped off with ice cream and all the toppings. We raffled off 21 fabulous prizes donated by local merchants.  When you have some money to spend, please consider supporting our local businesses. The day ended with a presentation by the Planning Board about its upcoming charette. To help us prepare for the Roundup, the GIVers once again provided the labor hours needed to prepare our advance mailing. Town employees Catherine Shaw and Aaron Patt also assisted us. A shout out to Carol Burgess who made arrangements for a free dumpster and provided shelter during the rain. Thanks to all the volunteers who made the 2014 Roadside Roundup a big success!!
